Winter has landed at Mooloolaba! And while the change of season coolly embraces our gorgeous seaside town, here at The Wharf, we’re bringing back the heat across the entire month of June – with a host of special events, season launches, carefully curated dinners and bucket list ‘things to do’.

The Humpback Whales are back!
June is an incredibly special month for our community, signalling the beginning of Whale Season 2023.
Now, we’ll argue till the sea-cows come home that Mooloolaba is, without a doubt, Australia’s epicentre for spectacular and rare whale experiences. At our doorstep, we witness one of the longest annual migrations in the world – with our friendly giants migrating north from June to July; and south from September to the end of October, with what’s called the “cross-over period” occurring during August and September.
With the best seats in the house, it’s no surprise that The Wharf Mooloolaba is proudly home to some of the best in the business; Whale One (Sunreef) and Adventure Rafting – who work tirelessly throughout the season to ensure that they deliver truly unique and utterly unforgettable experiences.

Official Welcoming of the Whales Launch Party 2023
Join us at The Wharf as we officially launch Whale Season with a ‘Welcoming of The Whales’ launch party. Hosted jointly by the legends at Sunreef and yours truly 👋, this event will be broadcasted by Hot 91 FM to celebrate the return of our favourite gentle giants. A day for the entire family to enjoy a suite of entertainment, including face painting and live music!

‘Go with the Flo’ Tasting Dinner ft. François Poulard
Join the team at Flo’s as they collaborate with long-time friend and executive chef Francois Poulard for an exquisite four-course tasting menu.
Having worked in multiple Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, the team will draw on a combined wealth of experience and excellence in French cuisine – presenting a delicious spin on the dishes and ingredients we have since grown to love at Flo’s.
Oysters with cider jelly, Mooloolaba king prawns and cured ocean trout, a modern take on the classic Duck à l’orange, scallop and mushroom tart – we’re promised different shapes and forms to the classic crêpe while also celebrating the ingredients in some of our favourite recipes. But make sure you save room for a dessert you won’t want to miss!

Savvy Squire Project Pink Fundraiser: Degustation Dinner
The team at Savvy Squire are proud to be hosting a 4 Course Degustation Dinner, on the 30th of June, in partnership with the incredible Project Pink Foundation.
Project Pink is a charity dedicated to raising vital funds across Australia for life-saving breast cancer research and to advocate for all women to be proactive with their health.
Greeted with a cocktail on arrival, guests will enjoy a night of entertainment and delicious food as they rally together for this fantastic cause! The 4 Course degustation promises to be top tier, and in true Savvy Squire style, each course will be paired with a James Squire beer as the perfect accompaniment and palette cleanser.
All proceeds from the evening, including event ticket sales and raffle tickets, will be donated to the Project Pink Foundation.
No formal word on the dress code – but we suggest you go PINK!
